Grows in moist to dry soil. White berries persist through the winter for birds. Spreads by rhizomes, making it a good soil stabilizer. Good for erosion control.

Snowberry grows everywhere and requires minimal maintenance. They do seem slightly happier when they have some moisture but not too much (and there are more interesting plants to grow in soggy soils anyway). The stock was quite small initially but after 2 years they are about 4 ft tall and starting to spread laterally by rhizomes. Looks good when combined with sword ferns.
