Lots of growth in first year

These, I estimate, doubled or tripled in size in the first year. Partial sun. Rocky/clay soil. Regular watering. Redmond, WA.

One of the best native shrubs

Posted by Joe Z on 11th Nov 2020

I had no problem establishing Ninebark including on a steep, dry slope. While it does appear to prefer moisture it also does fine in drier spots and doesn’t need much care. Plus it produces beautiful foliage and flowers.
