Mahonia nervosa
Bundle of 5 plugs
Evergreen groundcover that prefers moist soil and shady conditions. Fragrant yellow flowers that attract native pollinators. Birds eat the purplish-blue berries. Holly-like leaves turn red and purple in fall.

4 slow but steady

Supplemental water has kept these going in a tough spot under a walkway redcedar. They've settled in and are putting on some bulk after 2 years.

These recovered after planting and exhibited some new growth in the first year. Partial sun. Rocky/clay soil. Redmond, WA.

5 Pretty foliage but slow growing

These come as tiny plugs and grow slowly, but Oregon Grape is a pretty, evergreen groundcover that can handle dry summers without extra watering. All of mine are alive after 2 years but still fairly small.

I carefully followed the instructions by removing all the leaves before planting. None of the plants had any new growth. They are just stems in the ground
